An event that brings everyone together to experiment and create a dynamic performance. Dance Light is a annual student-produced dance showcase that highlights choreography, performance, and lighting design.
Dance Light 2025
To light a dance is to light the soul of the artwork. Not overtake it, but rather support it. Yet, how does one do that when such artwork is on-the-go?
To do that, you need a few pieces to lead.
CHOSEN PIECES
I was the lighting designer for the following two pieces:
Bruises Off The Peach & Fallin'
Design and choreograph lighting for the dance pieces

Bruises Off The Peach
I wanted to bring the colors of bruise elements into this, while playing with warming the stage slowly. As the days come and go.
Fallin'
I saw this being a play of back and forth, the hot and cold, the slow and rapid. Just like a flickering light.
Dance Analysis
Throughout this process, I analyzed the choreographies before I was able to get a proper film. To start thinking about the cues, we had to know the positions.

Now the vision's there, what does it take to pull it all together?
Making it work
A lot of technical components, it was a rigourous process hence my first proper time rigging the stage items physically.
To then going back to the board and models for coding and testing over and over.
